NO DONATION IS TOO BIG OR TOO SMALL >>> EVERY DOLLAR MAKES AN IMPACT!
Facing the challenges of today requires problem-solvers who bring different perspectives and are willing to take risks. Baraboo Area Homeless Shelter emerged out of a pursuit to inspire and support the community, and a desire for actions to speak louder than words. Established in 2019, we’re an organization driven by progressive ideas, bold actions, and a strong foundation of support.
Baraboo Area Homeless Shelter knows that our strength lies not only in the words we stand by, but most importantly through the actions of our initiatives. In 2019, our community leaders realized that by working together we could overcome our challenges much more efficiently, and that is why we ultimately decided to collaborate and build.
Please meet Jessica Herrewig, new Shelter Director.
Jessica began work at the shelter on July 19, 2022 and will continue for a period of at least three months.
At the time of her appointment, Jessica was already an employee of Central Wisconsin Community Action Council in their Sauk County office. CWCAC is the vendor who operates the shelter on behalf of our board of directors. It is very unusual for an organization as new as ours to have the opportunity to make a temporary internal promotion, but we are so grateful for this opportunity.
Jessica has previously served on the board of directors for the now-closed Safe Harbor Homeless Shelter in Reedsburg, as well as a volunteer and shelter advocate for Hope House in Baraboo.

Pathway Home, the Baraboo Area Homeless Shelter, together with its partners at Central Wisconsin Community Action Council, is proud to announce the hiring of HALEY WEISERT as case manager.
A Sauk County native, Weisert holds a Bachelor of Science from the University of Wisconsin-LaCrosse and is a graduate of Reedsburg Area High School. She has extensive work experience in a number of area not-for-profits, most recently as a program specialist with the UW-Madison Extension Sauk County office for the last five years. Much of her previous work has involved learning and connecting people with programs and resources in Sauk County, providing education to area youth, and conducting outreach in the area. Her knowledge of area resources and her obvious concern for people experiencing homelessness make her an ideal person to intersect with, support and encourage both our clients and staff.
Haley joined our team the last week of June, and reports to shelter manager Nicole Tidwell. A resident of rural Sauk County, she enjoys hiking, kayaking and gardening in the area.
